I am corn-bred and corn-fed from America's heartland. But life's trails led me to reside in Washington, California, Minnesota, Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico, with a brief stint in Austria. After 14 years in the travel industry, I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology, allowing me to work with neurodivergent individuals of all ages and train other professionals for the next 20 years. My formal career ended with 6 joyful years running elementary school libraries. Here is what keeps me going through thick and thin: For the past 50+ years, I have been a yogini, with ongoing study and practice rooted in traditions stretching back more than 5,000 years. Recently retired, I am finally writing the stories that have been cavorting in my head for decades. My goal is to add kindness to the world, as we sorely need it. May you find compassion, civility, common sense and a little magic on your own trails. All blessings!

5-STAR BOOK REVIEW for The Well (1st Edition published under "Colleen Golden"):Reviewed by Kathryn Bennett for Readers' Favorite

"This is the best paranormal/fantasy book I have read all year and I am so glad that I got the chance to read it...Colleen Golden has created a character and a book that are very easy to fall in love with and I would say this is a recommended read for anyone."

Chanticleer Editorial Book Reviews Rated 5 stars (1st Edition)

"It was amazing. The subtitle of Colleen Golden's lovely book, The Well, asks a searching question:  "What happens when the mind releases but the heart sustains?"  There are few greater mysteries and that's exactly why this charming and touching novel will appeal to so many readers...Golden's prose is imbued with a wistful nostalgia, so perfect for a book that considers the variedness of life and the questions of death. While we don't know all the answers, this novel helps us realize that because "love makes a good conduit," the possibilities are, indeed, endless."

March 18, 2024 4-star Review for goodreads, by D. Nesbit (2nd Edition):

"An intriguing take on our journey through life. The main character is an aging woman who spent her life as a farmer's wife in the Midwest. The story unfolds through a series of vignettes that show her impact on the people in her life, and it all takes place while she is in a coma in a nursing home. The author imagines a different life for the old woman. She cannot communicate with her beloved family while she is ailing, she lives in a space like the spaces in a honeycomb (between the real world, and the higher consciousness world). From that vantage point, she observes and helps her loved ones in their lives. The old woman becomes a creator of a town called "Possibilities" where she brings to life the things she loves about this world. The story is a unique take on aging and death. It will intrigue and perhaps comfort, those who are losing or lost a loved one. She writes with empathy and sensitivity for the human condition. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in family saga, or stories with a spiritual element."

SHAMANESS

"Of all the thousands of books I've read in a long lifetime, this is the singular deepest, most meaningful and beautiful volume ever encountered. It is multifaceted and multilevel covering all from mundane human foibles to profound spirituality. It has also managed to zero in on the improper behaviors and wrong thoughts currently destroying Western civilization."

A WALTZ ACROSS TIME

Inspired by true stories of my husband's Spanish, Mexican, and

Native American ancestors.
"Complete perfection word by word. Your interpersonal dialogue among the characters seems so real as to almost have been recorded on tape as it occurred.  This book has great pathos, as well as hopefulness."
